MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />FEBRUARY 9, 1994 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop <br />meeting of the Council of the City of Little Canada, <br />Minnesota was held on the 9th day of February, 1994 in <br />the Council Chambers of the City Center looated at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Raymond Hanson chaired and called the meeting to <br />order at 6:00 P.M. and the following members of the <br />Council were present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mr. Raymond Hanson <br />Council Member Mr. Steve Morelan <br />Council Member Mr. Bob Pedersen <br />Council Member Mrs. Beverly Scalze <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle <br />City Admin. Mr. Joel Hanson <br />Admin. Assistant Mrs. Kathy Glanzer <br />COMMi7NITY Hanson reported that the City is currently at a cross- <br />SUR~IEY roads. Most of the property in the City is developed <br />and Little Canada is a small City. The need for a <br />community survey has been identified to determine where <br />the City should go from here. <br />Dr. John Anderson, Anderson, Niebuhr & Associates, <br />appeared before the Council to discuss the types of <br />things a city can hope to accomplish with a community <br />survey. Anderson stated that it was important to make <br />sure that the results of a community survey are <br />meaningful and can give the City direction. Anderson <br />reported that his firm has worked with many <br />communities, and pointed out that each community is <br />unique and has different situations to address and <br />goals in mind. <br />The Administrator felt that the Council was committed <br />to do a community survey, but had not established a <br />definite consensus on what it hopes to accomplish with <br />a survey. <br />Anderson replied that his survey firm would spend time <br />Page 1 <br />
