h1INOTES
CITY COUNCIL
PEBRUARY 9, 1994
reported that he has written books on how to write
questions, and he and his firm know how to conduct a
survey and would do the job well. Anderson stated that
his firm would work with the City to identify the
issues and would tailor the survey to fit the City's
needs.
Scalze asked what could be done to bring the cost down.
Niebuhr replied that the sample size and the length of
the questionnaire could be reduced. However, the
process would still have to be completed from beginning
to end.
Scalze indicated that the City would have to determine
why they would spend more money to have Anderson,
Niebuhr & Associates conduct the survey.
Morelan asked who would conduct the interviews.
Niebuhr replied that they have their own staff who do
the interviews and that this staff was experienced and
qualified.
Anderson asked the Council to consider how useful the
City's 1988 survey was.
Scalze indicated that she found it very useful.
Hanson pointed out that the firm has been in business
for 20 years.
Anderson suggested that the City contact their
references.
The City Administrator thanked Anderson and Niebuhr for
their presentation.
Hanson pointed out the Planning Commission's desire for
an update of the City's Comprehensive Plan feeling that
the results of a survey could give the City a lot of
direction in that area.
There being no further business, the meeting was
adjourned at 7:18 P.M.
_ . _...._7
~......> ~ ~~~'f2& ~~-dy~ ~
Ra ond G.' ~ison, Mayor
~
Attest: ~~~~ ~xi~ - t -`
~ Joe~lT R.
