MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 10, 1994 <br />Mr. Pedersen introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94-8-210 - APPROVING THE MINUTES OF THE <br />JULY 27, 1994 CLOSED COUNCIL MEETING AS SUBMITTED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Pedersen, LaValle, Hanson, Scalze, Morelan. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS Mayor I~Ianson reminded everyone that this coming weekend <br />is the Canadian Days Celebration. <br />Scalze pointed out that the City's Community Pride <br />Committee is selling City T-shirts in order to raise <br />some funds for community recognition projects that it <br />is planning. The T-shirts are being sold at $7.00 each <br />and are available at City Hall. <br />Hanson announced the recent Citizens' League Survey <br />shows that Little Canada no longer carries the <br />distinction of being number one in property taxes. <br />LaValle stated that he was disappointed with the news <br />coverage in this week's Little Canada Press pointing <br />out that articles on the front page are old news and <br />news that is not of a positive note. LaValle felt that <br />more coverage could have been provided on the weekend's <br />Canadian Days Celebration. <br />Hanson thanked the City~s business community for their <br />support of Canadian Days and hoped that residents would <br />patronize City businesses and the organizations <br />supporting and promoting C~nadian Days. <br />Hanson reminded pet owners to have their pets licensed <br />as required by City ordinance. Should a pet become <br />lost, injured, or killed, such identification assists <br />in locating the pet's owner. <br />NORTHWEST Representatives of Northwest Youth & Family Services <br />YoUTH & appeared before the Council to provide an update on <br />FAMILY services provided and future plans.
