no brush pick-up in Little Canada. The Administrator
also recommended that the items covered in question 34
be separated.
It was pointed out that the neighborhood watch program,
addressed by question 33, is minimal at this time, but
is a focal point for the Sheriff's Department in the
future.
Hanson pointed out that recycling, recreational
programs, and Cable TV are not funded with property tax
dollars.
The Administrator recommended that the question on
Cable TV refer specifically to Channel 16, the City's
access channel.
Pedersen pointed out that recycling is not a service
provided by the City, but rather an independent
contractor.
Scalze noted that the City regulates recycling and
awards the contracts, therefore, should know if the
residents are happy with the service that they are
getting.
Morris pointed out that questions 39 and 40 deal with
service comparisons. Question 42 is a value question.
The City Administrator recommended that after question
43, the surveyor inform the respondent that the City's
share of the tax dollar is 14.8%.
Morelan suggested a question on how the property owner
would prefer to pay for services - assessed or taxed.
Morelan stated that street reconstruction would be a
good example. Morelan also felt that there should be a
question on the sidewalk issue and whether property
owners feel the City has an adequate pedestrian plan.
Remerowski felt the issue was whether or not property
owners preferred sidewalks.
Davison suggested that property owners be asked if they
are aware of the City's trail system and whether a map
was needed showing existing and proposed trails.
Morris felt that should be addressed along with other
questions on the park system. Morris suggested a
question on the level of information residents have on
current park facilities.
6
