MINLITES
CITY COUNCIL
SEPTEMBER 14, 1994
Scalze asked if the individual selected to fill the
Parkkeeper position would also help out in the Public
Works area.
The Superintendent replied that the Parkkeeper may be
included in the call-out rotation.
The Administrator reported that the Parkkeeper's
responsibilities are not limited to park maintenance,
and suggested that a better description was public
property maintenance. The intent is to have some
overlap of the position in the Parks and Public Works
areas, although the position's predominant
responsibilities will be public property maintenance.
The Superintendent estimated that he would have a
hiring recommendation for the Council to consider in
mid-october.
Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 94-9-326 - APPROVING THE PARKKEEPER
POSITION DESCRIPTION AND PAY SCALE AS PRESENTED
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze.
Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Hanson, Morelan, Pedersen.
Nays (0). The Administrator reported that the Council has
been presented with a proposed 1995 Budget and pointed
out that the figures included in that Budget would
result in a 5.97o net levy increase. The Administrator
reported that he also identified some areas where the
Council could decrease the budget and reduce the
percentage increase to something more acceptable. The
Administrator pointed out that the gross levy increase
is up 2.52%.
The Administrator pointed out the declining fiscal
disparities distribution from $241,874 in 1994 to
$211,980 in 1995. This is due to reductions in
9
