MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTEMBER 28, 1994 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94-9-338 - CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING <br />FOR WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 26~ 1994, AT 7:30 P.M. TO <br />CONSIDER AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO <br />BOUNDARY LINE FENCES <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, Scalze, Hanson, Pedersen, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />TEMPORARY The City Planner presented the Council with an <br />OFF-5ITE ordinance amendment relating to temporary off-site <br />SIGNS signs. This matter came up as a code enforcement <br />issue. The current ordinance does not specifically <br />prohibit temporary off-premise signs. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94-9-339 - CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING <br />FOR WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 26, 1994, AT 7:30 P.M. Resolution declared adopted. <br />GENERAL The City Planner presented the Council a report <br />BUSINESS regarding General Business District uses. In <br />DISTRICT reviewing these uses, the Planner stated that it is <br />USES - his opinion that the uses in the B-3 District are not <br />RICE STR. inappropriate and provide for a typical range of <br />MORATORIUM commercial and retail uses . The problem that occurs is <br /> the fact that uses in the B-2 District carry over into <br /> the B-3 District, and this becomes a problem along Rice <br /> Street in particular. The Planner stated that he would <br /> recommend defining some B- 2 Districts more <br /> specifically. The Planner also recommended the <br /> discontinuing of the carry over of B-2 uses into the B- <br /> 3 District. <br />Morelan asked if another business district would be <br />created and further designed so that the City can <br />better control how Rice Street would develop. <br />The City Planner felt that this further definition <br />15 <br />
