MINiITES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 12, 1994 <br />The City Administrator replied that that is a <br />possibility over time. The more miles of streets the <br />City has to maintain, the more personnel it will need. <br />However, initially there will be no need for additional <br />staff. The Administrator pointed out that the County <br />will be turning over approximately five miles of roads <br />to the City. <br />The Public Works Superintendent reported that the City <br />currently had about 32 miles of streets. <br />Scalze asked if the City had much choice in this <br />matter. <br />The Administrator replied that he was not sure the City <br />had a lot of choice at this time given the progression <br />of this proposal. He stated that most cities feel that <br />the turn-backs proposed make sense. <br />Scalze asked if the City will get any dollars from the <br />County for plowing of these roads. <br />The City Administrator pointed out that the City will <br />receive additional revenue to offset the additional <br />expenses in maintaining these roads through MSA <br />proceeds. The Administrator also pointed out that the <br />proposal could still be subject to change at this <br />point. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 94-10-354 - APPROVING CITY STAFF~S <br />RECOMMENDATION FOR ACCEPTING TURNBACKS OF COUNTY ROADS <br />IN THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA AND FORWARD SAME TO RAMSEY <br />COUNTY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, Scalze, Hanson, Pedersen, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />FRATTALONE The City Administrator reported that Frattalone <br />BERM Excavating has placed a berm along Ryan Drive. The <br />berm is located within City street right-of-way. The <br />Administrator reported that the Public Works <br />Superintendent has reviewed the situation, and while he <br />10 <br />
