MINUTES CITY COUNCIL OCTOBER 12, 1994 Administrator recommended that the mechanical fees be increased effective November lst, and the increases in electrical, hauler, and contractor fees take effect January 1st. Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION N0. 94-10-353 - APPROVING THE INCREASES IN LICENSE AND PERMIT FEES AS RECOMMENDED BY TI-IE CITY ADMINISTRATOR, AND INSTRUCTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO REVIEW THE PROPOSED ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS AND BRING THEM BACK TO THE CITY COUNCIL FOR TIIEIR CONSIDERATION AT THE NEXT COUNCIL MEETING The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Hanson, Morelan, Pedersen. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. FUNCTIONAL The City Administrator reviewed his memo dated CONSOLIDATION October 7th regarding functional consolidation of roadways as is being proposed by the County. The Administrator reviewed the streets that are being affected. The Administrator reported that the end result is that the County will have a roadway plan that makes the most sense from a County-wide standpoint. The Administrator reported that the State is also proposing to transfer some roads to the County. Rice Street is one of those. The City Administrator reported that once the roads are turned over to the City, the City will receive maintenance dollars for these roadways on an on-going basis in the form of additional State Aid dollars. The Administrator reported that Arcade Street is one of the streets that the County is planning on turning over to the City. The City would propose that Arcade Street be reconstructed in conjunction with the Watershed's proposal to upgrade storm sewers in the area. There will be some cost impacts to the City. However, the end result will be a much better road system. Hanson asked if streets would be upgraded before they are turned over to the City. 8
