WORKSHOP MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 9, 2025 <br />ESTABLISHING A COMMUNITY BUILDING TECHNICAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />The Parks & Rec Director explained that the need for indoor gathering space has become evident <br />over the past 10 years and in 2019 the Parks Commission reviewed a proposal to include a <br />community building to the list of enhancements at Pioneer Park. He stated the Commission was <br />supportive of proceeding with developing ideas for a community building in Little Canada. He <br />explained that the property at 2884 Centerville Road was identified as a good option for the <br />building since it is adjacent to Pioneer Park and the city acquired the property in early 2024. He <br />explained that several community engagement efforts have occurred over the last few years and <br />funds have been scheduled in the city's Capital Improvement Plan for this building in 2027. The <br />Parks & Recreation Director stated that the next step is to establish a Community Building <br />Technical Advisory Committee to meet on a monthly basis to get feedback on specifics of the <br />building. <br />Council members Dave Miller and Amanda Gutierrez volunteered to be the Council representatives <br />on this committee. Council member Angie Malone would be the alternate council member. <br />There was Council consensus to create a Community Building Technical Advisory Committee <br />made up of 2 City Council members and 1 Council alternate, Parks & Rec Commissioners, the <br />Parks & Rec Director, Parks Maintenance Supervisor, Recreation Coordinator, Acting City <br />Administrator, up to 5 community members and a committee facilitator. <br />There being n® further business, the meeting was adj <br />ourned at 7:24 p.m. <br />Thb'mas Fischer, Mayor <br />Attest: <br />I el 1 Her, City Clerk <br />
