MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
NOVII+IBER 9, 1994
Johnson felt the City must chose the improvement which
is aesthetically best for the whole City, and believed
that everyone in the City would benefit by the
improvement. Johnson asked when the land would be
surveyed, and suqgested that a survey be done before a
final decision is made.
The Administrator felt that a survey would be part of
the specifications for the improvement. Depending on
the option chosen, surveying needs differ.
Pedersen felt that the best long-term decision was
either a flatter slope or a retaining wall.
Scalze stated that she preferred a steeper slope, and
again suggested that the County be contacted regarding
maintenance issues relating to the existing steep
slopes along County Road B-2.
Morelan suggested that a letter be sent to the Dianna
Lane property owners and that the matter be scheduled
on a future agenda for discussion.
Pedersen suggested that a neiqhborhood meeting be held.
Desai suggested that the existing wall was an immediate
safety hazard.
LaValle instructed the Public Works Superintendent to
inspect the wall and to make whatever temporary repairs
are necessary to ensure that the wall is safe.
The City Administrator summarized the direction of the
Council which was to obtain additional information on
the feasibility of a one-to-one slope, a keystone wall
system, as well as a timber wall system. Dianna Lane
residents should then be invited to a future Council
meeting to discuss these options.
Scalze suggested that the City have photographs
available at that meeting to show what the various
options will look like.
LaValle stated that if the wall is located on City
property he did not believe the cost of improving it
should be assessed.
The City Administrator pointed out that a keystone wall
15
