MINUTES CITY COUNCIL NOVEPiBER 9, 1994 WATER The City Administrator reported that the Vadnais Inn CONNECTION would like to connect to Little Canada water main. FEE - This property was not assessed for an 1985 water main VADNAIS INN improvement. Under City policy, we would be charge a water connection fee based on what the property would have been assessed for such an improvement plus other costs to equalize system improvements supported by general taxes. (This process was created by Bob Voto during past connections by non-City users.) The Administrator estimated that cost at between $10,000 and $12,000. The Administrator reported that he has discussed this with the plumber who would be making the connection, and will be contacting the property owner directly with this information. The Administrator recommended a l0 to 25 percent deposit at the time of connection with the balance to be paid at the time the water connection agreement is finalized with the Vadnais Inn. The City Administrator reported that it may be necessary to enter into a joint powers agreement with the City of Vadnais Heights to address recovery of uncollected costs. Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 94-11-394 - AUTHORIZING TI3E CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO PROCEED WITH THE VADNAIS INN WATER MAIN CONNECTION AND AGREEMENT AS OUTLINED IN HIS LETTER OF NOVEMBER 4, 1994 The foreqoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. Ayes (5) Morelan, LaValle, I3anson, Pedersen, Scalze. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
