MINUTES CITY COUNCIL NOVII~tBER 23, 1994 alonq Rice Street will be running out soon. The Administrator pointed out that the Comp Plan update along Rice Street is progressing rapidly. Pedersen suggested that should nothing be forthcoming from the developer, in January the City could begin exploring options with the property owners in order to develop a Request For Proposals. ;~•, ,. LaValle made a motion ~~~` ~t`;instruct the City Attorney to return the documents submitted by the developer along with deposit check, thanking him for his interest, and that the City continue business as usual. LaValle pointed out that the developer has not performed. This motion died for lack of a second. Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 94-11-411 - INSTRUCTING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO INFORM THE VENETIAN DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION IN WRITING THAT THE PREVIOUS DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED REGARDING THE RICE STREET GATEWAY PROJECT ARE INADEQUATE, RETURNING THE DEPOSIT CHECK WHICEI WAS SUBMITTED, AGAIN SUBMITTING COPIES TO THEM OF THE DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT OUTLINE, AND INFORMING THEM THAT A DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT WHICH IS READY FOR EXECUTION SHOULD BE SUBMITTED WITHIN TWO WEEKS, OTHERWISE THE CITY WILL EXPLORE OTHER OPTIONS The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. Ayes (4) Morelan, LaValle, Hanson, Pedersen. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. FUTURE GOAL The City Administrator pointed out that in October of SETTING/ 1993 the Council and Staff held a goal setting session. TEAM BUILDING The Administrator suqgested the need for a team 5ESSION building/goal setting session early in 1995, after the City has received the results of the community survey which will be conducted. Morelan felt that the timeframe used for the 1993 session was too short, and that a two-day session would be more productive. The Administrator asked for direction from the Council. 15
