MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />NOVEPiBER 23, 1994 <br />If there is interest in,a session, staff will check on <br />the availability of facf:litators and facilities. <br />Morelan again stated tk~&t a two-day session was <br />preferable, and sugges~d;the use of a different <br />facilitator than was uR~pd:llast time. <br />BUILDING The City Administrator;'!~eported that Greg Schmit, <br />INSPECTION Castle Design and Development Company, Inc. has been <br />AGREEMENT doing the City's building inspections on a temporary <br />basis since August lst. The Administrator reported <br />that Schmit has done an excellent job for the City. <br />The Administrator reported that he has checked rates <br />being charged by other firms, and Schmit's rates are <br />competitive. The Administrator recommended that Schmit <br />be hired on a consulting basis as the City's Building <br />Inspector, and recommended approval of the Building <br />Inspection Contract as contained in the Council's <br />agenda packet with the amendments as outlined in the <br />Additions to the Agenda. <br />Mr. Pedersen introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94-11-412 - APPROVING THE BUILDING <br />INSPECTOR CONTRACT WITIi CASTLE DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT <br />COMPANY, INC. AS SUBMITTED BY THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR~ <br />AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO <br />EXECUTE THE CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF TI3E CITY <br />The foregoinq resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (4) Pedersen, LaValle, Morelan, Aanson. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />TAX-FORFEITED The City Administrator reported that the City has <br />PROPERTY received a request from Ramsey County for <br />classification or reclassification and sale of a tax- <br />forfeited parcel of property within the City located on <br />County Road B-2. The Administrator recommended that <br />this matter be forwarded to the Park & Recreation <br />Commission for comment. The Administrator also pointed <br />out environmental issues which may exist, and whether <br />the City would be assuming liability for any <br />contamination which might exist on a property. <br />The City Attorney reported that present law states that <br />16 <br />
