MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING CITY COUNCIL LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA NOVEFIBER 29, 1994 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the Council of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 29th day of November, 1994 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. Mayor Raymond Hanson chaired and called the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M. and the following members of the Council were present at roll call: MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mr. Raymond Hanson Council Member Mr. Steve Morelan Council Member Mr. Bob Pedersen Council Member Mrs. Beverly Scalze MEMBERS ABSENT: Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle ALSO PRESENT: City Admin. Mr. Fire Dept. Mr. Public Works Mr. Park & Rec. Mr. Ehlers & Assoc.Mr. Cable TV Prod. Mr. Admin. Asst. Mrs Joel Hanson Jim Gustafson Dave Harris Jim Morelan Rusty Fifield Bill Bruce Kathy Glanzer METRO EAST Jeff Rageth, Metro East Development Partnership, DE~IELOPMENT appeared before the Council reporting that Metro East PARTNERSHIP was formed eight years ago in response to the development which was occurring in the eastern suburbs. The Partnership has grown to include 28 cities as well as 80 private corporations and the Counties of Ramsey, Washington and Dakota. The Partnership focuses on job retention and attraction as a means of tax base expansion, and has five main programs. These include their small business mentoring program; a series of educational programs for members; property and building tracking system; data base business information resources; and extensive business lead referral system. Regath reported that he will leave information with the City Administrator which describes these programs. Regath reported that he was here this evening to invite Little Canada to become a part of the Partnership. 1
