MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
DECII'4BER 21, 1994
six-month time period, the Administrator recommended a
rebate of the Kraus-Anderson fee less a$100 processing
fee.
Morelan pointed out that the reason liquor license fees
are collected is to pay for the services these
businesses demand. Morelan pointed out that the
Sheriff's Department has spent a lot of time responding
to calls at the Saxon.
LaValle replied that the calls have dropped off at the
Saxon.
Morelan stated that he would like to see a report on
the number of police calls at the Saxon for the past
license period before a decision is made on whether or
not to rebate the license fee.
Pedersen pointed out that the City is not losing any
money in rebating the fee, since Mr. Anderson will be
paying for the last six months of the license period.
Pedersen felt that Kraus-Anderson should not be
responsible for a license fee for a period of time when
they do not own the business.
Morelan pointed out that the City is not obligated to
rebate the license fee, and stated that he would like
additional information before acting on the request for
a rebate.
Scalze pointed out that the City does not charge anyone
else in the City for extra police calls.
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 94-12-426 - AUTHORIZING THE REBATE OF
UNUSED PORTION OF LIQUOR, CIGARETTE, AND GAMEROOM
LICENSE FEES TO KRAUS-ANDERSON FOR SAXON LANES SUBJECT
TO A $100 PROCESSING FEE
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (4) Scalze, LaValle, Hanson, Pedersen.
Nays (1) Morelan.
