MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEt4BER 21, 1994 <br />holding period for <br />items, to give them <br />their merchandise. <br />the protection of people pawning <br />time to come back and retrieve <br />5calze stated that <br />the holding periods <br />pawn shops. <br />she would be interested in knowing <br />of other communities which license <br />Wedemeyer reported that Roseville has a 30 day holding <br />period, St. Louis Park has 30 days, Blaine 30 days, and <br />West St. Paul 30 days. <br />LaValle pointed out that the Sheriff~s Department has <br />indicated that a 60-day holding period would not be a <br />problem. <br />There was no one present wishing to comment on the <br />renewal of the pawn shop and second hand goods dealer <br />licenses. <br />Upon motion by Morelan, seconded by Scalze, the public <br />hearing was closed. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94-12-423 - APPROVING THE RENEWAL OF <br />PAWN SHOP LICENSE AND SECOND HAND GOODS LICENSE FOR <br />LINCOLN PAWN & JEWELRY LOCATED AT 2750 RICE STREET <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, LaValle, Scalze, Hanson, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />FENCE Hanson opened the public hearing to consider the <br />ORDINANCE amendment of the City's Fence Ordinance with regard <br />AMENDMENT to setbacks for boundary line fences as well as <br />screening requirements for commercial/industrial fences <br />abutting residential property. <br />There was no one from the general public present <br />wishing to comment on this matter. <br />Hanson pointed out that the Planning Commission has <br />recommended approval of an amendment to the fence <br />ordinance with requires boundary line fences to be <br />located entirely on the property of the fence owner <br />8 <br />
