MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING
CITY COUNCIL
LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA
DECEI~iBER 21, 1994
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop
meeting of the Council of the City of Little Canada,
Minnesota was held on the 21st day of December, 1994 in
the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515
Little Canada Road in said City.
Mayor Raymond Hanson chaired and called the meeting to
order at 6:25 P.M. and the following members of the
Council were present at roll call:
MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mr. Raymond Hanson
Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle
Council Member Mr. Steve Morelan
Council Member Mr. Bob Pedersen
Council Member Mrs. Beverly Scalze
ALSO PRESENT: City Admin. Mr. Joel Hanson
Admin. Asst. Mrs. Kathy Glanzer
CITY The purpose of tonight's workshop is to conduct a
ADMINISTRATOR performance evaluation of the City Administrator.
PERFORMANCE
EVALUATION The first performance category evaluated was
Organizational Management. The Mayor reported that he
rated the Administrator as E(Exceeds Expectations) in
this area. Hanson felt that this was reflected in the
efficiency of the City staff. Hanson pointed out that
the Administrator spends a good deal of time in
addressing residents' requests and concerns, and has an
excellent relationship with the public. Information
presented by the City Administrator is always accurate
and reliable.
LaValle agreed and stated that in the time the
Administrator has been at the City, he had never had a
legitimate complaint from citizens about the
Administrator's work or judgement.
Morelan rated the Administrator at an E-, and stated
that he does a great job with the limited resources he
has. Morelan expressed some concern for the length of
time it took to fill the Building Inspector position,
and noted that the Fire Marshal position is not yet
filled.
1
