MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />J11NiJARY 11, 1995 <br />Nays (O). Resolution declared adopted. <br />GAME ROOM Council reviewed the application of Harvey Anderson, <br />LICENSE - owner of the Saxon Lanes, for game room license. <br />HARVEY <br />ANDERSON, LaValle reported that he asked staff to survey the <br />SAXON LANES surrounding cities to determine what they are charging <br />for game room licenses. The cities surveyed charged a <br />license fee based on the number of games, while Little <br />Canada is charging a$100 fee for a game room license <br />for four or more amusement devices. <br />Fahey stated that he believed the license fee should be <br />reasonably related to the cost of services that the <br />City provides for this type of operation. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 95-1-9 - APPROVING THE TRANSFER OF GAME <br />ROOM LICENSE FOR THE SAXON LANES TO MR. HARVEY ANDERSON <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, Scalze, Fahey, LaValle, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 95-1-10 - INSTRUCTING STAFF TO PREPARE A <br />RECOMMENDATION ON THE ISSUE OF GAME ROOM LICENSE FEE <br />BRINGING THE CITY'S FEE INTO COMPLIANCE WITH THOSE <br />BEING CHARGED BY THE OTHER CITIES AS SHOWN IN THE <br />SURVEY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Fahey, Morelan, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />PAWN SHOP The Council reviewed the ordinance amendment submitted <br />ORDINANCE by the City Attorney which decreases the redemption <br />period for pawned items from four months to two months. <br />Fahey questioned wording in Section 818.220 regarding <br />the holding of items for thirty days after submitting a <br />required report to the appropriate law enforcement <br />4 <br />
