MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 25, 1995 <br />need some advice on whether the development as proposed <br />is a positive or negative for the City. Perhaps there <br />are advantages and disadvantages that the Council <br />should know before finalizing the plan. <br />Collyard pointed out that the various tenants have had <br />marketing data put together, and if that data was not <br />favorable, they would not want to be involved. <br />Fahey pointed out that perhaps the City wants the <br />cottages, but maybe it doesn't. That is an issue that <br />must be decided. However, Fahey suggested that the <br />City look at the numbers first before that issue is <br />debated. <br />Morelan commented that at some point the City must <br />determine what is best for the City. For example one <br />of many questions which must be answered is, "Does <br />crime come with a movie theater?". <br />Collyard reported that these are the same issues he is <br />lookinq at. Collyard reported that he will give the <br />City his input and there can be some discussion and <br />exchange on these issues. <br />Morelan stated that before he feels comfortable signing <br />a preliminary development agreement, he would like more <br />information on Collyard's resume. Perhaps this can be <br />addressed in the subcommittee level. Morelan also <br />asked for additional information on the Venetian <br />Development Corporation, such as the officers, recent <br />financial statement, etc. <br />Fahey suggested that the information be given to the <br />City Administrator. <br />USE OF Mr. Jerry Boog appeared before the Council requesting <br />PIONEER permission to use Pioneer Park for a fund-raising <br />PARK FOR tournament for his fast-pitch softball team. The <br />SOFTBALL team is a Little Canada team. There would be no sale <br />TOUF2NAMENT of alcohol at the tournament. <br />Morelan suggested that staff determine what liability <br />issues might fact the City. <br />Boog reported that ASA umpires would be used, and they <br />would cover their own liability insurance.
