MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JANUARY 25, 1995
placed after questions #91 and #92. Also, question #96
should refer to "old fire station".
The Administrator suggested that questions #106 and
#107 be eliminated. Council disagreed. The
Administrator suggested that the term "visual
pollution" be changed in question #129. Council
disagreed.
Fahey suggested that the word "strictly" be added
before "regulating" in question #130.
Council agreed that questions #132 and #133 should be
eliminated. Council also discussed and agreed that
questions #129 and #130 should be separate questions.
Council agreed with the Administrator's recommendation
to eliminate question #144 and to tie questions #143
and #145 to the cable broadcasting of Council meetings.
Council discussed the suggestion of the Park &
Recreation Chair that a question be added on
construction of a message sign at City Hall. Scalze
felt that a question of this nature should include the
estimated cost of the sign as well as the fact that a
scrolling message sign is not allowed under City
Ordinance and would require a variance.
Fahey and Morelan did not feel reference to the City's
ordinance was necessary, and that if people
overwhelming supported the sign, that would be an
indication that they would support an ordinance change
as well.
Pedersen stated that he would not support $35,00o for a
message sign.
Fahey felt the cost would be closer to $20,000, and
indicated that he would not support a$15,000 monument
sign.
Due to the need to commence the regular Council
meeting, the Council indicated that it would discuss
the sign question another time.
There being no further business, the workshop was
adjourned at 7:35 P.M.
3
