MINUTES CITY COUNCIL FEBRUARY 15, 1995 the shopping center will want to locate where they will have profile on Rice Street. Collyard stated that the drug store is making ends meet, however, they cannot wait to move into the new retail space being proposed. Scalze pointed out that urgent care is not retail, and suggested that they be located in the Market Place. Collyard reported that there are urgent care facilities in other malls. The proposal is to locate them right next to the drug store. Morelan felt that this seemed like a waste of good retail space. Pedersen suggested that the Grumpy's site might be a good urgent care location. Collyard replied that the site is too expensive. LaValle suqgested that the grocery store, urqent care, and bingo hall could be located in the Market Place Shopping Center. Collyard replied that he has another place for the bingo hall. Collyard reported that the anchor tenants need parking, and he is trying to do the best he can with the Market Place. Since there has been criticism about the demolition of the Market Place, the plans have been changed to retain a portion of the structure, keeping some space for the grocery store, and orienting the facility toward Rice Street. Additional parking can be obtained for the grocery store by utilizing the Burger King and Pizza Hut lots. DeLonais pointed out that he wants to retain his back acre since he uses this area as his front yard. DeLonais also pointed out that the shopping center is 20 to 25 years old, and he believes it was developed in 1971. Morelan asked where the bingo hall would be located. Collyard replied that he is looking at acquiring the Movers Warehouse property, expanding the Rice Street frontage, and placing the bingo hall some place within Little Canada that would be acceptable to the City.
