The definition does not say that <br />a trail must be separated from a roadway. <br />John Schwabach asked if the bank along the lake would <br />be disturbed by the road improvement. <br />Auge reported that the County would be using the <br />centerline of the existing pavement and working from <br />their. The County does not want to get into the bank <br />too much or do any filling on the lakeside. Some <br />telephone poles will be relocated as part of the <br />project. <br />Bill Knutson, Maplewood resident, reported that he and <br />his neighbor video-taped a presentation for the <br />Maplewood City Council showing how the road improvement <br />would fit int the area, and in doing so found that <br />existing trees can be preserved. However, Knutson <br />stated that he preferred a 30-foot improvement to a 32- <br />foot. Knutson felt that the shoulder improvement is <br />inevitable.
