MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
FEBRUARY 22, 1995
Fahey pointed out that at a recent meeting of the
Community Pride Committee, the Committee discussed the
town square concept. Fahey suggested that the Planner
put together some additional alternatives for City
review, including the town square area adjacent to the
senior housing component, for example. Fahey suggested
that these alternatives be available for the March 6th
Council workshop.
The Planner pointed out that inclusion of a town square
in the Gateway Project did not result in the loss of
much developable space. All the components proposed by
the developer are still included, but have just been
somewhat re-oriented. The Planner stated that he would
send the developer a copy of this concept.
Fahey again asked for a couple of additional options
for the Council to consider. Fahey suggested that the
Council hold a workshop with the Planning Commission to
discuss this matter.
The Planner indicated that he has submitted Comp Plan
information to the Planning Commission on a couple of
additional areas in the City. Once all areas have been
addressed, and basic comments made by the Planning
Commission and City Council, the next step would be to
conduct neighborhood meetings.
Morelan asked if the City Council should be meeting
with the Planning Commission prior to the neighborhood
meetings, or should the neighborhood meetings be held
first.
The Planner replied that he prefers to have a few
concepts to present to the neighborhood.
Fahey suggested that the Planner lay out the process
and a schedule, and submit that information to the
Council.
The City Administrator reported that he would invite
the Planning Commission to attend the Council's March
6th workshop.
ADJOURN Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
32
