MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
MAY 10, 1995
Scalze felt that the record should be clear that a 45
foot radius cul-de-sac right-of-way would exist for the
Bluwood cul-de-sac.
Fahey replied that that issue has not yet been
resolved. Fahey stated that it was his feeling that
the City should take the standard right-of-way for
Bluwood since that right-of-way already exists.
Pedersen pointed out that the Australian cul-de-sac
will have a 35 foot radius right-of-way.
The Administrator pointed out that if a 45 foot cul-de-
sac is paved at the end of Bluwood, there will be no
room for snow storage.
Scalze felt the right-of-way should be a 45 foot
radius, and the pavement should be 40 foot radius.
LaValle pointed out that there is 100 feet of right-of-
way all the way down Bluwood until the Morelan property
at which point there is 90 feet. Had it not been for
the 10 foot vacation, there would have been room for a
45 foot radius pavement.
The Administrator pointed out that the vacation
occurred in 1981. The Administrator felt that a 40
foot paved radius would be adequate.
Pedersen asked about the improvement of a temporary
cul-de-sac at the end of Australian until the street is
reconstructed.
Scalze suggested that a temporary gravel turn-around
would be adequate until reconstruction occurs.
The City Administrator reported that he would discuss
this with the City Engineer to determine the best
option. If gravel is acceptable to the Council, that
may be the best short-term solution.
Pedersen did not support paving a temporary cul-de-sac
which could be torn up in the next couple of years.
Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 95-5-124 - ACCEPTING THE CITY
ADMINISTRATOR'S RECOMMENDATIONS AS OUTLINED IN HIS MEMO
DATED MAY 5, 1995 WITH REGARD TO THE AUSTRALIAN CUL-DE-
SAC WITH THE UNDERSTANDING TI3AT SEVEN FEET WILL BE
4
