MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 24, 1995 <br />finished space. Scalze pointed out the use the <br />Historical Society is putting the building to - <br />conducting school tours, super summer programs, etc. <br />Scalze stated that the City wants to accommodate <br />everyone's needs, but dead storaqe in such a historical <br />building may not be the answer. <br />Fahey suggested the City proceed to secure the services <br />of an architect to begin working on the acoessibility <br />issues. The Council will make the ultimate decision on <br />space allocations. Fahey suggested the City <br />Administrator notify all Council Members of future <br />committee meetings, so they might attend if they choose <br />to. <br />Morelan aqreed the City should get an architect hired <br />and the process begun up to the point where decisions <br />have to be made on space allocation. Morelan stated <br />that he has serious concerns about the proposal. <br />SAND The City Administrator reviewed the recommendation of <br />VOLLEYBALL the Park & Recreation Commission for installation of <br />COURT sand volleyball court in Spooner Park. The <br />Administrator pointed out that resurfacing of tennis <br />courts is under budget, therefore, the Commission is <br />recommending that these excess funds be used to pay for <br />the volleyball court. <br />Scalze suqgested the location of the court should be on <br />higher ground so it is visible from the road. <br />Morelan replied that the grades of the area may be such <br />that this is the only location that works. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 95-5-145 - AUTAORIZING INSTALLATION OF A <br />SAND VOLLEYBALL COURT AT SPOONER PARK AS RECOMMENDED BY <br />THE PARK & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Morelan, Fahey, Scalze, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />TOWN MEETING The City Administrator reminded the general public the <br />first Town Meeting on the Rice Street Study will be <br />held on Wednesday, May 31st, at 7 P.M. in the cafeteria <br />of the Roseville Area Middle School. <br />22 <br />
