MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 24, 1995 <br />OF $22,957.90 AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY ENGINEER AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO <br />EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF TFIE CITY~ <br />*AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR DIANNA LANE RETAINING WALL <br />TO SUNRAM CONSTRUCTION IN THE AMOUNT OF $26,514.00 <br />AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CSTY ENGINEER AND AUTHORIZING <br />TIiE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE ON BEHALF <br />OF THE CITY~ <br />*APPROVING THE VOUCHERS. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Pedersen, Scalze, Fahey, Morelan. <br />Nays (O). Resolution declared adopted. <br />AUSTRALIAN Council reviewed the change-order for the 1995 <br />TII~IPORARY improvement projects for the improvement of a temporary <br />CUL-DE-SAC cul-de-sac at the end of Australian Avenue. The City <br />Administrator felt that there would be a cost-savings <br />to the City by usinq the contractor that is already <br />working in the area. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 95-5-141 - APPROVING THE CHANGE-ORDER <br />FOR 1995 IMPROVEMENT PROJECT FOR IMPROVEMENT OF A <br />TEMPORARY CUL-DE-SAC AT TfIE END OF AUSTRALIAN AVENUE AS <br />BY THE CITY ENGINEER <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Fahey, Morelan, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />ROAD Fahey acknowledged the request of Rocky Waite to <br />IMPROVEMENT address the Council about concerns he has with the <br />CONCERNS - Jackson/Old County Road C/Lakeshore project. Fahey <br />ROCKNE WAITE pointed out previous discussions on the improvement <br />project, and suggested if there were issues that the <br />Council needed to resolve, those issues be discussed. <br />Waite reported that he had public safety concerns which <br />needed to be addressed. Waite reported that a couple <br />of nights ago the contractor had an open trench in the <br />street. That evening there was a fire call at the <br />Grand Pre' Apartment complex. The street was not <br />marked as being closed, and emergency vehicles were <br />coming down the street in route to Grand Pre'. Waite <br />
