MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JULY 26, 1995
of property owners that people who do not have adequate
parking area will use the west side of the street for
parking.
Pedersen suggested installing signs that say no parking
between the hours of 10 P.M. and 8 A.M. might be a
solution.
Scalze stated that from what she sees, there will be
few times that park users will park along Desoto.
Scalze stated that a property owner in the area has
told her that the parking lots are not full. That is
why she would like to see documentation of the problem.
Morelan suggested that the no parking signs be removed.
The City should wait and see what happens before
ordering new signs. If there is a problem than signs
restricting parking can be ordered and installed.
LaValle suggested that, if feasible, the posts remain
until the City sees if allowing parking on the west
side of the street works.
Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 95-7-182 - INSTRUCTING THE PUBLIC WORKS
DEPARTMENT TO REMOVE THE NO PARKING SIGNS ALONG THE
WEST SIDE OF DESOTO FROM LABORE ROAD TO ALLEN AVENUE
LEAVING THE SIGN POSTS, IF THAT IS FEASIBLE
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (4) Morelan, LaValle, Pedersen, Scalze.
Nays (0).
