MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />NOVEt4BER 8, 1995 <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following ordinance and moved <br />its adoption: <br />ORDINANCE N0. 422 - AMENDING CHAPTER 1101.050. RELATING <br />TO LICENSING OF DOGS AND CATS, REMOVING THE REQUIREMENT <br />FOR THE LICENSING OF CATS, AND ADDING A PROVISION <br />LIMITING THE NUMBER OF CATS PER DWELLING UNIT TO THREE <br />AND COMBINATION NUMBER OF DOGS AND CATS PER DWELLING <br />UNIT TO FOUR <br />The foregoing ordinance was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (4) Fahey, LaValle, Scalze, Pedersen. <br />Nays (1) Morelan. Ordinance declared adopted. <br />SUPEI2AMERICA The City Attorney reported that the court upheld the <br />LAWSUIT decision in the SuperAmerica lawsuit in favor of the <br />City and affirmed dismissal pursuant to the City's <br />motion for summary judgment. SuperAmerica now has <br />until December 7th to petition for review by the <br />Supreme Court. Granting of the petition is <br />discretionary by the Supreme Court so there is no <br />guarantee that the case will be heard. <br />HOLIDAY Morelan reported that last year he raised the <br />LIGHTS suggestion of holiday lights at City Hall. Given the <br />time of the year, the issue was not pursued. Morelan <br />suggested that if the City were willing to allocate <br />funding for lights, he could find volunteers to put <br />them up. <br />Fahey stated that he did not believe holiday lights <br />were a good use of tax dollars and would open the City <br />up to criticism. <br />Morelan felt the lighting was a community pride issue, <br />and pointed out the dollars spend by the Community <br />Pride Committee on City entrance signs. <br />Fahey stated that he is on the Community Pride <br />Committee and the issue of holiday lighting has not <br />been discussed. Fahey stated that the Committee <br />focuses on things with lasting impact, and even if the <br />Committee recommended in favor of the lights, he would <br />feel the same way. <br />DOG AND CAT The Administrator clarified for the Council that the <br />ORDINANCE existing Dog and Cat Ordinance requires the licensing <br />of cats, and the recommendations for change to the <br />9 <br />
