Fahey
suggested that less reporting to the Council might
allow the Administrator more time for other duties.
Scalze and Pedersen stated that they appreciated the
reports provided by the Administrator. Pedersen
suggesting that assignment lists were a way for him to
monitor that things are getting assigned and not
forgotten. Scalze pointed out that most of the reports
are generated by staff for staff, and providing copies
for the Council did not require much additional effort.
Morelan felt that the information update was an
important communication tool for the Council. The Administrator also pointed
out that he uses the information update as a means of
soliciting input from the Council on some items.
Scalze and Morelan stated that they preferred to
continue receiving the information update. Morelan
suggested if individual Council Members are requesting
information that normally would not be compiled, and is
not easily compiled, they be informed of this fact.
Morelan suggested that a Council Member may not realize
the amount of work required to gather information for a
report.
Fahey stated that he never asks for anything he does
not think is important to a decision he must make.
The Administrator stated that his position is should a
Council Member feel information is important enough to
ask for, it is worth gathering. Staff will put
3
