MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JANiJARY 24, 1996
Children's Skating Party on Saturday, February 3, 1996
from 1:00 P.M. to 3 P.M. at the skating rank adjacent
to the old fire station.
The Recreation Association is also hosting a Grand
Casino Hinkley Fundraiser trip on Saturday, February
24th. Cost is $9.00 per person and includes a bus ride
to and from the casino as well as refreshments on the
bus. Buses will leave the Little Canada Elementary
5chool parking lot at 4:30 P.M. and return at Midnight.
Contact John Keis, 482-8774 for additional information.
MOVERS The City Attorney reported that the 8th Circuit Court
WAREHOUSE of Appeals has denied the Movers Warehouse motion for
LITIGATION hearing. The Planning Commission has recommended
ROAD AREA approval of the rezonings.
Fahey noted that the rezonings will not affect taxes or
valuations of properties, nor the continued use of
properties. The PUD zoning will give the City more
control over what will go into a property ensuring that
whatever is developed will be consistent with the
City's plans for redeveloping the area. Fahey noted
that if the rezoning is approved, the Zoning Map will
be amended to show PUD zoning. Given a PUD zoning on a
property, the Land Use Map will also have to be
reviewed in considering development proposals for a
site. The City is not proposing to change the Land Use
Map for the area.
Todd Hagen asked if Residential use or PUD zoning will
2
