MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 149 2025 <br />APPROVE PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYEE WORKING OUT OF CLASS <br />The City Clerk stated that the Public Works Department is currently down two employees, one of <br />whom is the Streets and Fleets Supervisor. She stated that Ryan Anderson has stepped up to handle <br />those duties and would continue for a longer period of time, as there is an extended medical issue; <br />therefore, staff recommends that Ryan temporarily be appointed to the Streets and Fleets Supervisor, <br />retroactive to April 30th. She stated that this will continue until the current supervisor returns or <br />officially retires in August. She provided a brief update on the staffing within public works and the <br />additional discussions that will occur later this year, as both employees out on extended medical leaves <br />are scheduled for retirement later this year. <br />Mayor Fischer appreciated the willingness and ability of Ryan to step into this role.. <br />Malone introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2025-5-80 —APPROVING THE TEMPORAR Y APPOINTMENT OF <br />RYANANDERSON TO PUBLIC WORKS STREETS AND FLEET MAINTENANCE <br />SUPERVISOR AND APPROVING AN INCREASE TO STEP 0 OF THE SUPERVISOR <br />GRADE RETROACTIVE TO APRIL 30T' DURING THE REGULAR SUPERVISOR'S <br />LEAVE OF ABSENCE <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Kwapick. <br />Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />COUNCIL REPORTS AND MEETING UPDATES <br />Kwapick provided an update on the recent meeting of the Ramsey County League of Local <br />Governments. <br />Gutierrez commented on the brief meeting of the Fire Relief Association the previous night. <br />Miller stated that the North Suburban Cable Commission will meet the following night and thanked <br />staff for their efforts in another great Sap Run. <br />Malone reported on the Northeast Youth and Family Services Luncheon that she attended earlier in the <br />day with various members of staff and the Council. <br />Mayor Fischer provided an update on the City Administrator hiring process, noting that they have <br />narrowed the pool of applicants from 40 to four finalists who will be interviewed this weekend. He <br />provided an update on the recent meeting he attended with the nine area metro cities. <br />ADJOURN <br />There being no further business, upon motion by Gutierrez, seconded by Miller, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 8:58 p.m. <br />�49- <br />
