Fahey indicated that the <br />Fire Department has used for lower level for fire <br />drills. <br />LaValle asked if parking at the old fire hall was <br />adequate. <br />The Building Official indicated that two handicapped <br />accessible parking spaces would be necessary. The City <br />Administrator pointed out that there are options for <br />additional parking at the site. One is the concept of <br />moving the pleasure skating rink behind the hockey rink <br />and using this area for expanded parking. <br />Morelan asked if the parking lot at the corner of <br />McMenemy and Little Canada Road can be used for parking <br />for the old fire hall. <br />The City Administrator replied that this is an overflow <br />parking area for the old fire hall and believed this <br />option is in compliance with zoning codes. <br />Donovan pointed out that the Historical Society might <br />have need for a storage area for old farm equipment. <br />Fahey suggested that the bottom of the water tower and <br />grounds around the water tower might be a good location <br />for that equipment. <br />Fahey suggested that at the Council meeting, the <br />feasibility study be authorized. <br />Boss suggested that the projects not be contingent upon <br />the donation of outside money and grants. <br />Scalze suggested that the taxpayers may be more <br />supportive of an addition onto City Hall for the <br />Historical Society than putting $200,000 to $300,000 <br />into the old fire hall. <br />The City Administrator pointed out that the next step <br />for the old fire hall renovation would be to have the <br />architect prepare a schematic layout and a budget.
