MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 13, 1996 <br />RECONSIDER The City Administrator reported that due to an error in <br />LIFTING meeting notice requirements, the Council needs to call <br />MoRATORIUM for another public hearing to consider the rezoning of <br />& CALL FOR the Rice Street/Little Canada Road redevelopment area <br />HEARING TO to PUD. Staff is suggesting that the public hearing be <br />REZONE held on Wednesday, March 27, 1996, 7:30 P.M. at City <br />RICE STR./ Hall. The Administrator also pointed out that at its <br />LITTLE last meeting the Council passed an ordinance lifting <br />CANADA RD. the moratorium in this same area. The Administrator <br />AREA TO PUD recommended that that action be reconsidered. Should <br /> the area be rezoned to PUD, the moratorium can then be <br /> lifted. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-3-60 - RECONSIDERING ORDINANCE NO. <br />343 LIFTING THE MORATORIUM IN THE RICE STREET/LITTLE <br />CANADA ROAD REDEVELOPMENT AREA <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (4) Morelan, LaValle, Pedersen, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-3-61 - CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING <br />FOR WEDNESDAY, MARCH 27, 1996, 7:30 P.M. AT CITY HALL <br />TO CONSIDER THE REZONING OF PROPERTIES WITI-IIN THE RICE <br />STREET/LITTLE CANADA ROAD REDEVELOPMENT AREA TO PLANNED <br />UNIT DEVELOPMENT (PUD) <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. <br />Ayes (4) Morelan, Pedersen, Scalze, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />CITY The City Administrator reported that the City has <br />CENTER received two proposals from architects for conducting <br />ADDITION a feasibility report for an addition to City Hall. One <br />is from Paul Finsness Architects and the other from <br />Boarman, Kroos, Pfister, Rudin & Associates. The <br />Administrator pointed out that the Boarman firm did the <br />work on the last City Hall addition. Given the <br />alignment of the existing building, setback and roof <br />line issues, the Administrator recommended that Boarman <br />be hired to do the study. The Administrator suggested <br />that while the Boarman proposal may be higher, the City <br />may realize an overall cost savings given Boarman's <br />experience with the building. <br />
