MINUTES OF THE WORKSAOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />MARCH 27, 1996 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop <br />meeting of the City Council of the City of Little <br />Canada, Minnesota was held on the 27th day of March, <br />1996 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located <br />at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Michael I. Fahey called the meeting to order at <br />6:00 P.M. and the following members of the City Council <br />were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. Michael I. Fahey <br />Council Member Mr. Steve Morelan <br />Council Member Mr. Bob Pedersen <br />Council Member Mrs. Beverly Scalze <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle <br />PLANNING COMM.: Mr. Gene DeLonais <br />Mr. Scott Barraclough <br />Mr. Dennis Carson <br />Mr. Dan Knudsen <br />Mr. Rick Montour <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Admin. Mr. Joel R. Hanson <br />City Planner Mr. Steve Grittman <br />Admin. Asst. Mrs. Kathy Glanzer <br />COMP PLAN The City Planner purpose of this meeting is to go <br />through the Comprehensive Plan update section by <br />section and discuss any changes to the text or plans <br />which are desired. The Planner suggested that the City <br />may want to withhold any rezonings proposed in the Plan <br />until after the Plan is officially adopted by the Met <br />Council. Another option would be for the City to adopt <br />the Land Use Plan and wait to rezone properties until a <br />development proposal comes in. However, this would <br />result in a lot of non-conforming uses. The Planner <br />suggested that it was more common for cities to wait <br />until development proposals are submitted before <br />rezoning a property. <br />Fahey suggested that the downside of waiting to rezone <br />would be that a proposal could be submitted that meets <br />existing zoning, even though it does not meet the Land <br />Use Plan. <br />The Planner agreed, and pointed out that if a <br />1 <br />
