MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />APRIL 10, 1996 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop <br />meeting of the City Council of the City of Little <br />Canada, Minnesota was held on the lOth day of April, <br />1996 at the Historical Society headquarters located at <br />440 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Michael I. Fahey called the meeting to order at <br />6:00 P.M. and the following members of the City Council <br />were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. Michael I. Fahey <br />Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle <br />Council Member Mr. Steve Morelan <br />Council Member Mr. Bob Pedersen <br />Council Member Mrs. Beverly Scalze <br />HISTORICAL <br />SOCIETY: Mr. Don Donovan <br />Mrs. Jean Donovan <br />Mr. Ray Hanson <br />Mrs. Kathy Aanson <br />Mr. Henry Huot <br />Mrs. Joan Pepin Tschida <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Admin. Mr. Joel R. I~Ianson <br />Admin. Asst. Mrs. Kathy Glanzer <br />IIISTORICAL Those present reviewed the Little Canada Historical <br />SOCIETY Society's collection. Fahey stated that from reviewing <br />the notes of the meeting the Historical Society had <br />with Mr. David Nystuen, Minnesota Historical Society, <br />it appears that in order to appeal to a broader <br />spectrum of the public, the Historical Society needs to <br />exhibit its collection. Exhibits will attract the <br />public to learn about the history of the City. Fahey <br />also pointed out Nystuen's recommendation that the <br />Historical Society have a mission statement, etc, in <br />order to formalize its structure. <br />Jean Donovan pointed out that the Historical Society <br />does have some short-term and long-term goals, but felt <br />those needed some review. The Historical Society will <br />be putting together a mission statement, and they are <br />qetting some help from Nystuen in this regard. <br />With regard to exhibits, Jean Donovan reported the <br />Historical Society will be able to put together the <br />types of displays Nystuen suggested since they have the <br />1 <br />
