MINU'PES
CITY COUNCIL
APRIL 30~ 1996
Rutzick stated that if good stores are put in, the
customers will come.
Scalze suggested that the Administrator put together a
list of action steps for the Council to consider at its
next meeting.
Morelan agreed. Morelan also felt that a letter should
be sent to all the property owners in the redevelopment
area informing them where the City is with the project.
Rutzick indicated that developers will want to know
the City has control of the ground, how much ground
there is, and what the surrounding area will look like.
The Administrator indicated he would put together an
outline of action steps for the Council's May Sth
meeting.
Scalze suggested the action steps also include some
cost estimates and a recommendation for where the
dollars would come from.
The Administrator agreed, but pointed out that the cost
estimates will be rough. The Administrator also
mentione that a funding source for these costs could
include the Market Place Shopping Center financing fee.
That fee has not been collected yet; therefore, the
City may have to front the money from other City
sources. There may also be some TIF administration
dollars from other districts which can be used.
Vitale asked if gambling funds could be used.
The Administrator pointed out that half of the 10% Fund
dollars have been set aside for economic development
and will fund the streetscape proposal.
Morelan indicated he was not sure this fit his
criteria for what 10% Funds should be used for.
Pedersen pointed out that consensus of the Council has
been to use 10% Funds for this purpose.
There being no further business, the workshop was
adjourned at 7:50 P.M. _ %^~
Beverly~~calze, Act'~'ig Mayor
Attest:
oel ,~2.
