MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 22, 1996 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, Pedersen, Scalze, LaValle, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />OLD FIRE The City Administrator reviewed the bids received for <br />STATION renovation of the old fire station. The low bid was <br />RENOVATION submitted by AA Contracting in the amount of $66,000 <br />with no bid for Alternative #1, Completion Date, and a <br />deduct of $1,400 for Alternative #2, elimination of <br />tuck point work. The Administrator reported that the <br />architect is in the process of verifying references for <br />the low bidder. The Administrator recommended awarding <br />the low bid with no alternates subject to satisfactory <br />references, pointing out the City has deadlines to meet <br />with regard to the Ramsey County Community Development <br />Block Grant which has been awarded for this project. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-5-128 - AWARDING THE LOW BID OF AA <br />CONTRACTING IN THE AMOUNT OF $66,000 FOR RENOVATION OF <br />THE OLD FIRE STATION SUBJECT TO VERIFICATION BY THE <br />ARCHITECT THAT AA CONTRACTING IS A RESPONSIBLE <br />CONTRACTOR <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, Scalze, Fahey, Pedersen, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />WATER MAIN The City Administrator reviewed his memo dated May <br />CONNECTION 17, 1996 regarding water main connection for the <br />TO HEDLUND Hedlund property located at 655 Keller Parkway. The <br />PROPERTY Administrator pointed out that at the October 24, 1995 <br /> assessment hearing for the Keller Parkway water main <br /> project, the Council deleted the assessment for the <br /> Hedlund property provided the property owners sign an <br /> agreement indicating they would support a future water <br /> main project for Lakeside Court. Mr. Hedlund has <br /> indicated he does not want to sign such an agreement <br /> and requested he be assessed for water main on Keller <br /> Parkway. The Administrator reported that a service <br /> stub from Keller Parkway was not provided for the <br /> Aedlund property. Cost of installation of such stub <br /> would be $3,000, and the County does not want Keller <br /> Parkway disturbed for facilitate this connection. <br /> Based on these factors, the Administrator recommended <br /> the City delete the requirement that Mr. and Mrs. <br /> Hedlund sign a statement indicating support for a <br />13 <br />
