MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JUNE 10, 1996
CITY CENTER Fahey reviewed the City Administrator's estimate of
ID SIGN $7,500 for construction of a two-sided City Center
identification sign. Funding for this sign would come
from the City's 10% Fund.
The Administrator pointed out that a single-sided sign
would cost approximately $6,500. It was the consensus
of the Council that a two-sided sign was preferable.
Council also discussed the placement of the sign so
that it is visible from both the east and west on
Little Canada Road. It was noted that it may be
necessary to relocate the flag poles in order to place
the identification sign in the best location possible.
LaValle felt the cost of the sign was too high.
Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO.
CONSTRUCTION 0
SIGN AT A COST
ADMINISTRATOR,
THE CITY'S 10%
LOCATION TO BE
96-6-137 - AUTHORIZING THE PURCAASE AND
? This would yield
an annual savings to the City of approximately $840.
The majority of cities with such plans use
Comprehensive Managed Care or Corvel. After reviewing
each company, City staff recommends Corvel be retained
as our managed care provider due to their somewhat
lower fees, no initial set-up fee, and their experience
in the field.
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 96-6-138 - APPROVING CORVEL AS THE
CITY'S WORKERS~ COMPENSATION MANAGED CARE PROVIDER AS
RECOMMENDED BY STAFF, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT WITH CORVEL ON
11
