MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JULY 1, 1996 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop <br />meeting of the City Council of the City of Little <br />Canada, Minnesota was held on the lst day of July, 1996 <br />in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at <br />515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Michael I. Fahey called the meeting to order at <br />6:00 P,M. and the following members of the City Council <br />were present at roll call: <br /> CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. Michael I. Fahey <br /> Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle <br /> Council Member Mr. Steve Morelan <br /> Council Member Mr. Bob Pedersen <br /> Council Member Mrs. Beverly Scalze <br /> ALSO PRESENT: City Admin. Mr. Joel Hanson <br /> Hoisington Mr. Michael Schroeder <br /> Hoisington Mr. Bruce Chamberlain <br /> Planning Comm. Mr. Gene DeLonais <br /> Venetian Inn Mr. Joe Vitale <br /> Admin. Asst. Mrs. Kathy Glanzer <br />RICE STREET/ The purpose of this evening~s workshop meeting is <br />LITTLE to review and form consensus on some streetscape <br />CANADA ROAD design issues for the Rice Street/Little Canada Road <br />REDEVELOPMENT redevelopment area. <br />AREA - STREET <br />SCAPE OPTIONS Fahey wanted it noted in the record that when the <br /> County relocates Little Canada Road within the right- <br /> of-way, the City should look at the location of Bryan <br /> Avenue to make sure it is within the right-of-way. If <br /> not, it may be necessary to obtain additional right-of- <br /> way easements. The cost of acquisition of these <br /> easements would then be assessed back against the <br /> adjacent property owners since they will benefit by <br /> having the road located within dedicated right-of-way. <br />Michael Schroeder, Hoisington Koegler Group, reported <br />that he has looked at a range of cross-sections for <br />Little Canada Road from Rice Street to the railroad <br />tracks and for Middle Street. Schroeder stated that he <br />started with the impression that streetscape for Little <br />Canada Road should fit within the existing 66-foot <br />right-nf-way. However, in studying the area, Schroeder <br />felt Little Canada Road should be two-lane divided with <br />a median and a protected left turn lane from Rice <br />1 <br />
