MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JUI,Y 10, 1996
Scalze stated that she had no problem with Option 2.
Fahey suggested the matter be tabled for two weeks so
it can be considered when there is a full Council
present. Fahey also suggested Community Pride
Committee members could be informally polled to
determine their preference.
Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved
its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 96-7-167 - TABLING ACTION ON THE CITY
CENTER SIGN UNTIL THE JULY 24, 1996 REGULAR COUNCIL
MEETING WHEN THERE WILL BE A FULL COUNCIL PRESENT
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan.
Ayes (4) Fahey, Morelan, Scalze, LaValle.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
PARRING Morelan reported that he asked to have the issue of
AIANG LITTLE parking along Little Canada Road adjacent to St. John's
CANADA ROAD Church placed on the agenda for discussion. Morelan
ADJACENT TO pointed out there is no parking posted on the
ST. JOHN'S south side of Little Canada Road for about 50 feet
CHURCH west of McMenemy Road. This leaves approximately three
parkinq spaces from that point to the entrance to the
driveway at the front of the Church. Morelan reported
that for the past couple of Sundays he looked at the
situation in light of previous comments made by Carl
Helgeson. A car on McMenemy Road turning left onto
Little Canada Road has very limited visibility due to
the curve in Little Canada Road as well as the grade.
Based on these observations, Morelan suggested that the
City ask the County to post no parking on the south
side of Little Canada Road from McMenemy Road west to
the driveway entrance. This eliminates about three
parking spaces.
Fahey pointed out there are some no parking signs on
the south side of Little Canada Road east of McMenemy
Road which could be removed. Fahey felt this area was
originally posted when the Fire Department operated
from 440 East Little Canada Road.
Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 96-7-168 - REQi7ESTING RAMSEY COUNTY POST
THE SOUTH SIDE OF LITTLE CANADA ROAD AS NO PARKING FROM
10
