MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 14, 1996 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-8-185 - INSTRUCTING THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />TO PREPARE AN ORDINANCE AMENDMENT GIVING TAE RIGFIT OF <br />ENTRY TO CITY EMPLOYEES, PARTICULARLY POLICE AND <br />INSPECTORS, IN MOBILE HOME COURTS FOR TI-IE PURPOSES OF <br />ENFORCEMENT OF CITY CODES, ORDINANCES, AND STATE LAWS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, Scalze, LaValle, Pedersen, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-8-186 - INSTRUCTING THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />TO PREPARE AN ORDINANCE AMENDMENT DECLARING THE <br />OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON PRIVATE ROADS WITHIN A <br />MOBILE HOME COURT SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE STATE HIGHWAY <br />TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, Pedersen, LaValle, Scalze, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Fahey expressed concern that enacting the parking ban <br />would be an inconvenience for homeowners. Fahey stated <br />he would like a better feel for how significant an <br />issue this is. Fahey sugqested that rather than a <br />City-wide ban, problem area should be posted for no <br />overnight parking. <br />Shanley reported that many cities have this parking ban <br />year-round, and some have it only during winter months. <br />Scalze suggested that staff survey surrounding cities <br />to determine their overnight parking regulations. <br />Fahey also asked for information from the Sheriff's <br />Department about which areas in the City there is an <br />overnight parking problem. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the followinq resolution and moved <br />its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-8-187 - TABLING ACTION ON THE <br />PROPOSAL TO IMPOSE OVERNIGHT PARKING RELATIONS IN THE <br />CITY PENDING ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FROM STAFF AND THE <br />SHERIFF~S DEPARTMENT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Scalze, Pedersen, Morelan, LaValle. <br />Nays (0).
