MINIITES
CITY COUNCIL
AUGUST 28, 1996
store flammables in an attached garage.
There was no one from the general public present
wishing to comment on this matter.
Upon motion by Morelan, seconded by Scalze, the public
hearing was closed.
Morelan asked if a Conditional Use Permit to move in a
garage would have the same requirements as a CUP to
move in a house.
The Planner replied that it would.
Morelan asked how the Council could be assured the
garage would not depreciate surrounding property values
in light of the fact that there is no picture of what
the garage would look like.
Scalze asked the size garage Huot would like to bring
in.
Mr. Huot replied the qarage would be 1 1/2 cars in size
and indicated he did not want a 2-car garage.
Morelan asked if it were necessary to view the
structure before granting the CUP.
The City Planner noted that the structure will be
inspected by the Building Inspector and will have to
meet Code requirements. The Council can also require
the exterior of the garage match the existing home.
Fahey indicated that the garage should be inspected by
the Building Inspector before it is moved into the
City.
Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 96-8-199 - APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE
PERMIT TO MOVE AN EXISTING ONE AND ONE-HALF CAR GARAGE
ONTO A SINGLE-FAMILY LOT LOCATED AT 155 EAST VIKING
DRIVE AS REQUESTED BY TED HUOT SUBJECT TO COMPLIANCE
WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY PLANNER AS
OUTLINED IN HIS AUGUST 5~ 1996 REPORT
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by 5calze.
Ayes (5) Morelan, Scalze, Pedersen, Fahey, LaValle.
Nays (O).
