MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTII~IBER 25, 1996 <br />at 100 feet. <br />Morelan expressed concern pointing out the of the width <br />of the Australian Avenue cul-de-sac may have had a <br />different outcome if the Council had not focused on the <br />standard of a 120-foot radius. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following ordinance and <br />moved its adoption: <br />ORDINANCE NO. 447 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1006 <br />OF THE LITTLE CANADA CITY CODE, KNOWN AS THE <br />SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE, BY ESTABLISHING PROVISIONS FOR <br />THE LOCATION AND DESIGN OF LOCAL AND DEAD-END STREETS <br />The foregoing ordinance was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Morelan, Pedersen, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Ordinance declared adopted. <br />PROPERTY Fahey reported that the Council held a workshop <br />ACQUISITION meeting preceding the Council meeting at which it <br />I5SUES discussed property acquisition/redevelopment/financing <br />issues in the Rice Street/Little Canada Road area and <br />the Country Drive area. At the workshop the Council <br />discussed the availability of 20 and 56 West Little <br />Canada Road, and it was the consensus of the Council to <br />take the necessary steps to pursue the potential of <br />these properties. It was noted that these properties <br />are located on the north side of Round Lake, and the <br />City's land use plan designates this area as open <br />space. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-9-234 - AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO ORDER APPRAISALS OF 20 AND 56 WEST <br />LITTLE CANADA ROAD AND TAKE THE NECESSARY STEPS TO <br />PURSUE THE PURCHASE OF THESE PROPERTIES PENDING RECEIPT <br />OF A LETTER FROM THE OWNER OF 56 WEST LITTLE CANADA <br />ROAD REQUESTING THAT THE CITY PURCHASE HIS PROPERTY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Morelan, Fahey, LaValle, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Fahey noted that the Council also discussed the fact <br />that the owner of 2944 Condit Street has asked if the <br />City would be interested in purchasing this property. <br />The site would square off a parcel for redevelopment <br />12 <br />
