MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />SEPTi~iBER 25, 1996 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop <br />meeting of the City Council of the City of Little <br />Canada, Minnesota was held on the 25th day of <br />September, 1996 in the Council Chambers of the City <br />Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Michael I. Fahey called the meeting to order at <br />6:30 P.M. and the following members of the City Council <br />were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: <br />Mayor Mr. <br />Council Member Mr. <br />Council Member Mr. <br />Council Member Mr. <br />Council Member Mrs <br />Michael I. Mrs. <br />Joel Hanson <br />Tom Sweeney <br />Rusty Fifield <br />Kathy Glanzer <br />LAND The City Administrator reported that the purpose <br />ACQUISITION/ of tonight's workshop meeting is to discuss land <br />REDEVELOPMENT/ acquisition/redevelopment/financing issues for <br />FINANCING properties in the Rice Street/Little Canada Road <br />ISSUES redevelopment area as well as in the Country Drive <br /> redevelopment area. The Administrator pointed out that <br /> the owners of 20 West Little Canada Road and 2944 <br /> Condit Street have approached the City to determine if <br /> there was any interest on the part of the City in <br /> acquiring their properties. The Administrator reported <br /> that the City has funds on hand to purchase the <br /> properties. The most viable funding sources would be <br /> the Park Acquisition Fund and the MSA (storm sewer) <br /> Fund. The Administrator reported that there are two <br /> lots on Little Canada Road adjacent to Round Lake which <br /> impact future ponding improvements in the Rice <br /> Street/Little Canada Road redevelopment area. <br /> Scalze asked if the Watershed District might assist in <br /> the purchase of these two sites. <br />The Administrator replied that the Watershed has <br />mentioned there may be grant funds available for the <br />type of storm water project planned for the area.
