MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />:7CTOBER 9, 1996 <br />evaluation of the Fire Department's insurance coverage. <br />Fahey asked if the Administrator was recommending <br />approval of American Agency's quote. <br />The Administrator replied that he was, although <br />somewhat reluctantly. However, based on the <br />circumstances and the fact that it is the taxpayer's <br />money that is being spent, he recommended acceptance of <br />the quote from American Agency. <br />Fahey asked if Youngdahl Companies were aware of the <br />quote submitted by American Agency. <br />The Administrator replied that they were not. He noted <br />that he had promised Youngdahl Companies he would not <br />play prices off against each other. The Administrator <br />pointed out that American Agency is offering a better <br />price. American Agency has been the City's insurance <br />agent for the past six years, and has done a good job <br />for the City. Therefore, he was not uncomfortable in <br />remaining with American Agency. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved <br />its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-10-253 - ACCEPTING THE OFFER OF <br />AMERICAN AGENCY FOR 1997 INSURANCE AGENT SERVICES ON A <br />FIXED FEE BASIS OF $3,900 WITH TAAT FEE LOCKED-IN FOR <br />THREE YEARS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Morelan, Scalze, LaValle, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />TIF The Council reviewed Rusty Fifield's memo dated <br />FINANCING October 4, 1996 outlining TIF Financing Plans action <br />PLANS - steps to be taken to facilitate redevelopment <br />ACTION STEPS activities in the Country Drive and Rice Street/Little <br />Canada Road areas. This item was informational only <br />and specific recommendations will be provided at <br />subsequent meetings. <br />PURCHASE The Council reviewed the recommendation of the Publio <br />OF SNOW Works Director to purchase a snow plow truck at a cost <br />PLOW TRUCK of $24,900. Funds to cover this purchase will come <br />from the 1997 Capital Improvement Budget in the amount <br />of $20,000. The City also received a$10,000 <br />settlement from our insurance company from the fire <br />18 <br />
