MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />)CTOBER 9, 1996 <br />UPDATE OF <br />PARK MASTER <br />PLAN <br />TRAIL AND <br />PARK IN <br />TWIN LAKE <br />AREA <br />accessory space for a property is limited to 1,000 <br />square feet. <br />Morelan pointed out that an accessory building would do <br />more the restrict openness that required setbacks are <br />supposed to maintain than converting the Jebens' deck <br />to a porch. <br />The City Administrator indicated that an accessory <br />building could be constructed to within 10 feet of the <br />rear property line. <br />Fahey suggested that the matter be continued until the <br />October 23rd Council meeting. At that meeting, staff <br />is asked to present more information on the Maplewood <br />Conditional Use Permit process for deck enclosures, as <br />well as information on Variance standards. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 96-10-255 - APPROVING TAE EXPENDITURE OF <br />$400 TO UPDATE CHARTS AND MAPS CONTAINED IN THE CITY'S <br />PARK MASTER PLAN <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Morelan, Fahey, LaValle, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Fahey noted that the City of Vadnais Heights is looking <br />to work cooperatively with Little Canada on trail and <br />park improvements in the Twin Lake area. <br />The City Administrator reported that Vadnais Heights <br />would like Little Canada to work with them on this <br />issue indicating that Little Canada would then have <br />more control over how the trail and park are developed. <br />Scalze noted that the City has already informed Vadnais <br />Heights that they should proceed with the trail and <br />park development on their own property. Scalze stated <br />that she did not care to have input into this park <br />development or the operation of a Vadnais Heights park. <br />Morelan asked why the matter was not referred to the <br />Parks & Recreation Department. <br />The City Administrator felt that the matter should be <br />first discussion by the Council to determine if there <br />22 <br />
