MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 23, 1996 <br />CONSENT Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />AGENDA moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 96-10-266 - APPROVING THE CONSENT AGENDA <br />WAICH CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING ITEMS: <br />*APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDERS FOR THE OLD FIRE STATION <br />PROJECT; <br />*APPROVAL OF THE PAY REQUEST SUBMITTED BY AA <br />CONTRACTING FOR THE OLD FIRE STATION PROJECT; <br />*APPROVAL OF THE VOUCHERS. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (4) Scalze, LaValle, Fahey, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />RICE STR./ The City Administrator reported that he, the Mayor and <br />LITTLE CANADA Council Member Pedersen met with property owners in <br />ROAD/COUNTRY the Rice Street/Little Canada Road area and made <br />DRIVE offers of just compensation for their property. The <br />PROPERTY property owners were asked to respond to the City's <br />ACQUISITION offer by November 6th. The Administrator reported that <br />UPDATE the appraised price was offered to these property <br />owners with the indication that this amount was the <br />City's offer unless there was a compelling reason to <br />increase that offer. <br />The Administrator further reported that the owners of <br />the Market Place Shopping Center have been in <br />discussions with Budget Power for the acquisition of <br />the Budget Power property. <br />Mark Hotzler, Market Place Limited Liability, reported <br />that they have been in negotiations with Budget Power <br />for the last few weeks to buy their building with the <br />intent to offer the City the ability to assume their <br />position as purchaser of the building. Hotzler also <br />reported that they are negotiating a lease with Budget <br />Power to locate in the Market Place Shopping Center. <br />Hotzler reported that the purchase agreement was signed <br />late this afternoon, and Hotzler indicated he was <br />present this evening to offer the contract to the City <br />for assumption. <br />Pedersen asked if the agreement was fully binding. <br />Hotzler replied that it was with a couple of <br />contingencies.
