MINUTES CITY COUNCIL OCTOBER 23, 1996 CONSENT Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and AGENDA moved its adoption: RESOLUTION N0. 96-10-266 - APPROVING THE CONSENT AGENDA WAICH CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING ITEMS: *APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDERS FOR THE OLD FIRE STATION PROJECT; *APPROVAL OF THE PAY REQUEST SUBMITTED BY AA CONTRACTING FOR THE OLD FIRE STATION PROJECT; *APPROVAL OF THE VOUCHERS. The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. Ayes (4) Scalze, LaValle, Fahey, Pedersen. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. RICE STR./ The City Administrator reported that he, the Mayor and LITTLE CANADA Council Member Pedersen met with property owners in ROAD/COUNTRY the Rice Street/Little Canada Road area and made DRIVE offers of just compensation for their property. The PROPERTY property owners were asked to respond to the City's ACQUISITION offer by November 6th. The Administrator reported that UPDATE the appraised price was offered to these property owners with the indication that this amount was the City's offer unless there was a compelling reason to increase that offer. The Administrator further reported that the owners of the Market Place Shopping Center have been in discussions with Budget Power for the acquisition of the Budget Power property. Mark Hotzler, Market Place Limited Liability, reported that they have been in negotiations with Budget Power for the last few weeks to buy their building with the intent to offer the City the ability to assume their position as purchaser of the building. Hotzler also reported that they are negotiating a lease with Budget Power to locate in the Market Place Shopping Center. Hotzler reported that the purchase agreement was signed late this afternoon, and Hotzler indicated he was present this evening to offer the contract to the City for assumption. Pedersen asked if the agreement was fully binding. Hotzler replied that it was with a couple of contingencies. The first is a satisfactory
