MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 23, 1996 <br />environmental study, and the second is the City's <br />assumption of the purchase agreement. Also, the Market <br />Plaoe has 60 days to put a lease agreement together <br />with Budget Power. Hotzler indicated he is fairly <br />optimistic this can be done. Hotzler reported that the <br />proposal is to close on the property by the end of the <br />year, with Budget Power being responsible for payment <br />of property taxes through the end of the year. <br />The City Administrator recommended the Council accept <br />assignment of the purchase agreement, and the Council <br />authorize the environmental study and title review of <br />the property. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-10-267 - ACCEPTING ASSIGNMENT OF THE <br />PURCHASE AGREEMENT FOR THE ACQUISITION OF THE BUDGET <br />POWER PROPERTY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (4) LaValle, Scalze, Pedersen, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Fahey thanked the Market Place Limited Liability <br />Company for their assistance in this matter, pointing <br />out that this is the first step in assembling sites for <br />redevelopment in the Rice Street/Little Canada Road <br />area. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-10-268 - AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO ORDER ENVIRONMENTAL TESTING OF TAE <br />BUDGET POWER PROPERTY AS WELL AS COMMENCING ON THE <br />NECESSARY TITLE WORK IN PREPARATION FOR CLOSING ON TAE <br />PROPERTY PURCHASE <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (4) Scalze, LaValle, Pedersen, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />The City Administrator reported he has surveyed the <br />property owners along the Country Drive redevelopment <br />area to determine if they had any interest in selling <br />their property so the City can assemble parcels for <br />redevelopment.
