MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />NOVEMBER 13~ 1996 <br />into the ditch in front of his house. <br />Plisner asked if the Watershed was intending to direct <br />more water into Kohlman Lake. <br />Sherri Buss replied that water is only being re-routed, <br />there will be no additional water into Kohlman. The <br />large pipes and series of weirs being installed will <br />slow the run-off down when it gets into the wetlands. <br />Fahey stated that it was a difficult decision of how <br />much City tax dollars should be spent for two homes <br />which were built too low. Fahey reported that the run- <br />off situation was improved when County Road B-2 was <br />reconstructed. Fahey stated that he was not adverse to <br />doing something. However, pointed out that it doesn't <br />matter if the culverts are moved, water will go to the <br />lowest point, and that is in front of Plisner's <br />property. <br />Plisner felt the ditch at the front of his property was <br />not low enough. <br />Fahey felt one option would be to move the water into <br />the lake quicker. However, this would not address <br />ecoloqical concerns of the lake. Fahey asked if Buss <br />could facilitate some cooperation between the Watershed <br />and the County on this issue. <br />Buss agreed that a joint assessment of the situation <br />was needed. Buss indicated that she would inform the <br />Council of the results of that assessment. <br />Fahey felt the issue may be one of ditch maintenance. <br />Plisner requested an invitation to the meeting of the <br />Watershed and County. <br />Buss asked if there were any other projects the City <br />would like the Natural Resources Board to work on. <br />Fahey asked for the Natural Resources Board~s continued <br />support of in the Rice Street/Little Canada Road <br />redevelopment project. <br />Morelan asked if there was a problem in Little Canada <br />with residents dumping undesirable things into the <br />storm sewer system. <br />Buss replied that there does not appear to be a major <br />problem in Little Canada.
