MINUTES CITY COUNCIL JANUARY 22~ 1997 moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 97-1-23 - AUTHORIZING THE INCLUSION OF DITCH 7A IMPROVEMENTS IN THE ARCADE STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT SUBJECT TO RECEIPT OF APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTATION FROM THE WATERSHED ACKNOWLEDGING THEIR RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE DITCH IMPROVEMENTS The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. Ayes (5) Scalze, Fahey, LaValle, Morelan, Pedersen. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. The City Administrator reported that staff would like authorization to meet with the Aspen Grove neighborhood to discuss proposed drainage improvements in the rear yards of these properties. It appears that installation of a pipe that would discharge into the pond would resolve the drainage problem. The project would include filling and turf restoration. The Administrator pointed out that the affected property owners would have to agree to paying the cost of this improvement. Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 97-1-24 - AUTHORIZING CITY STAFF TO ADD ASPEN GROVE DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE ARCADE STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT SUBJECT TO AGREEMENT OF THE AFFECTED PROPERTY OWNERS TO PAY THE COST OF THESE IMPROVEMENTS The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. Ayes (5) Morelan, LaValle, Pedersen, Fahey, Scalze. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. The City Administrator pointed out that the improvement of a sidewalk along Lakeshore Avenue from Australian to Country Road C as well as a path along Centerville Road connecting Pioneer Park and Spooner Park are included in the City's 1997 Infrastructure Improvement Budget. The Administrator suggested that the City Engineer could evaluate these projects as part of the 1997 Improvement Projects. Morelan asked if there had been a neighborhood meeting on the Centerville Road path. The Administrator replied that there had not, but suggested this could be done. 13
